Havana, ooh na-na

Soon, Urska and I are on our way to Havana from Mexico City and I am excited to show her this amazing city. Havana is a city that is seemingly frozen in time and this is part of its appeal. The city is colorful, vibrant, and fun and there is an amazing energy here that I very much enjoy.

Enjoying a beautiful sunset in Havana.

We are staying at the Iberostar Parque Central Hotel which is centrally located in Havana.  The rooms are clean and spacious and the hotel has many nice amenities including a nice rooftop that overlooks the main square where all of the classic colorful cars await to give tours. This evening we enjoy nice snacks, drinks, live music, and a beautiful sunset – everything was perfect!

Urska and I are having fun at the Iberostar Parque Central rooftop.

The view from the Iberostar Parque Central rooftop is great.

A little Havana shopping.

For dinner, we visited Nao Bar – Palador. The prices were reasonable, the service was friendly, and most importantly, the food was great – I will definitely go here again!

The food at Nao Bar – Palador is delicious!

The next day, we hired a beautiful red and white Buick convertible car. The driver was a great guide, super nice, and gave us a great tour – this is an amazing way to explore Havana.

So enjoying this beautiful red and white Buick convertible car.

We stopped at El Christo de la Habana, a massive statue of Jesus that is almost 89 meters tall (259 feet) for some photos. Our guide tells us that some say the statue is holding a cigar in the right hand and a mojito in the left hand in honor of Cuban culture.

Urska and I are flying at El Christo de la Habana. So happy!

We continued our tour through Havana seeing historic sites such as Revolution Square, El Capitolio (The former Cuban capitol building), and visited a cigar factory.

So many classic cars – so cool!

Havana has a great vibe and is a fun place to visit and should be on everyone’s bucket list. Time to move, we are off to the Bahamas!

Happy Traveling,

Ines Juranovic
